Peace Billboard Greets Chicago and Northwest Indiana Commuters

From Tony Shafton: "On July 7, 2006, a full-size billboard with the simple message 'Out of Iraq' appeared on the Indiana Toll Road in Gary, Indiana, on I-90, where interstate travelers and Chicago commuters will daily get the message. The local public TV station and both local newspapers covered the unveiling on a day when they also covered George Bush in Chicago. Other area peace groups have taken notice and are planning billboard projects of their own. The billboard was financed by contributions to the Northwest Indiana Coalition Against the Iraq War. Across the bottom the billboard says: 'to keep this sign alive donate – exitiraq.org.' Please do."
